Imtiaz Shaikh


Imtiaz Shaikh is the Chairman of Tomini Group. He comes from a family whose roots are deeply embedded in shipping. He has been the driving force behind the success of Tomini Shipping which over the last 40 years has owned more than 120 vessels.

He is known for his strategic thinking, talent in forecasting trends and keeping risk to rewards as the basis for every decision. He has led the groups transformation from a shipping company to a diversified transportation business with operations in classic cars and plant machinery.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a post graduate diploma in shipping from the London School of Trade.

Per Kampmann

Partner, CCO

Per Kampman’s shipping career stretches back 49 years, he established Alpina Chartering in 1984 and became associated with the Shaikh family in the late 70’s, since 1986 Alpina has exclusively handled Tomini Shipping’s chartering activities.

He strongly believes that there are three basic but essential elements necessary for success in the investment and operation of ships: cost-effectiveness, efficiency and foresight and these considerations are ever present in his decision-making process.

When Tomini placed an order for 9 Ultramax in 2013, the Kampmann family joined as co-owner and Commercial Manager of the new fleet under the banner of Alpina Chartering. He is based in Denmark.

Nitin Mehta


Nitin Mehta is a passionate business leader and CEO of Tomini Group having previously served as CFO.

He joined the group in 2013 and during this period he has led the group through significant revenue and geographic growth.   Prior to joining he held several executive positions for a number of banks including Standard Chartered, Citibank and Mashreq bank. He holds an MBA.

Tejas Shah


Tejas Shah joined Tomini Group in 2017 as CFO. He joined from Topaz Energy and Marine where he played a key role in corporate bond issues and private equity investments.

He has extensive experience in driving finance and account operations throughout the Middle East and Caspian regions.

Tejas is a chartered accountant and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds a diploma in IFRS from ACCA UK.

Numair Shaikh

Head of Shipping

Numair Shaikh joined Tomini Shipping in 2016, a fourth generation member of the Tomini family, his career began early, spending summer holidays on apprenticeships with the Group, gaining exposure to the management and maintenance of bulk carriers.

Prior to joining the group he worked for PWC.   He holds a bachelor’s degree.

Shoaib Seedat

Head of Newbuildings

Shoaib Seedat joined Tomini Group in 2013 as Head of Projects, responsible for delivering major mixed use real estate developments for the group, prior to joining he had a successful career as a residential developer in London.

He recently moved into the position of Head of Newbuildings with Tomini Shipping, where he will draw on his extensive project delivery experience, to oversee our site teams and manage the whole process.  He holds an LLB and LPC.

Pradeep Bajpai

Head of Fleet Management

Pradeep Bajpai joined Tomini in 2019 as Head of Fleet Management with responsibility for the corporate strategy and implementing plans, standards & policies that adhere to the vision and values of Tomini Shipping.

He has more than 40 years’ experience in shipping, ship management and technical operations. A Marine Engineer, Pradeep started his career at sea in 1979 and after sailing as a Chief Engineer he moved ashore to take up technical management roles in 1995, working with Univan Ship Management and Eurasia in Hong Kong.

He moved into Executive Management in 2005 as General Manager with Leo Ship Management in Hong Kong, reaching the position of Fleet Director with Bernard Schulte Ship Management, Mumbai, before his move to Tomini Shipping.

Sinead Brady

Head of HR & Communications

Sinead Brady joined Tomini Group in 2014 as Head of Human Resources. Before that, she held a range of HR positions in financial services and consultancy. She has wide-ranging international experience throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, with particular expertise in reward, resourcing, talent management and M&A considerations. Sinead holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Queen’s University and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel Development.
